  • 2 tablespoons olive oil good quality
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt adjust to taste
  • 0.25 teaspoon black pepper freshly ground if possible

Equipment

  • Air fryer
  • Meat thermometer
  • Small bowl
  • Tongs
  • Paper towels

Method

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 200°C (390°F) so it’s ready to go.
  2. Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels until they feel firm and are free of excess moisture.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together olive oil, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper until well combined.
  4. Rub the spice mixture evenly all over each chicken breast, ensuring every surface is coated generously.
  5. Place the chicken breasts in the air fryer basket in a single layer, skin-side down if applicable, leaving space between each piece.
  6. Cook for 10 minutes, then use tongs to flip the chicken breasts over carefully.
  7. Continue cooking for another 8-10 minutes, until the chicken is golden brown and the internal temperature reaches 75°C (165°F).
  8. Remove the chicken from the air fryer and transfer to a plate. Let it rest for 5 minutes to allow the juices to redistribute.
  9. Slice the chicken against the grain and serve immediately, enjoying the crispy exterior and juicy interior.
