Ingredients

  • 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs, cooked and shredded
  • 1/2 cup buffalo sauce store-bought or homemade
  • 4 tablespoons butter melted
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 8 slider buns split and toasted lightly
  • 1 cup crispy slaw or shredded lettuce optional, for crunch
  • to taste salt and pepper

Equipment

  • Large skillet or saucepan
  • Shredding forks/trash can or bowl
  • Baking sheet
  • Toaster or oven

Method

  1. Cook the chicken breasts in a large skillet over medium heat until cooked through, about 8-10 minutes per side. Once cooked, let them rest for a few minutes, then shred with two forks until fine and stringy.
  2. In a small saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat, then add the minced garlic. Cook until fragrant, about 30 seconds, filling your kitchen with a savory aroma.
  3. Pour the buffalo sauce into the saucepan with the butter and garlic, stirring well. Let it heat together until bubbling lightly, about 2 minutes, creating a spicy, tangy glaze.
  4. Add the shredded chicken to the buffalo sauce mixture, stirring until all the chicken is evenly coated with the spicy sauce. Cook for another 2-3 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.
  5. While the chicken heats, split the slider buns and toast them lightly in a toaster or oven until golden and crispy. This adds a nice crunch and prevents sogginess.
  6. Assemble the sliders by placing a few spoonfuls of the buffalo chicken onto the bottom half of each toasted bun. Add a handful of crispy slaw or lettuce for crunch if desired.
  7. Top each slider with the other half of the bun, gently pressing down to set the filling and make it easier to pick up.
  8. Serve immediately while the buns are crisp and the chicken filling is hot. Enjoy these spicy, tangy sliders with your favorite sides or on their own for a flavorful bite.

Notes

Optional toppings include blue cheese crumbles or sliced pickles for extra flavor.
