Ingredients

  • 2 cups cooked shredded chicken preferably cooked and shredded chicken breast or rotisserie chicken
  • 1/2 cup buffalo hot sauce adjust to taste
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter melted
  • 8 sliders slider buns split and toasted
  • 1 cup pickles sliced thin
  • 1/4 cup ranch dressing for drizzling
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil for toasting buns
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano optional, for herb infusion

Equipment

  • Large skillet or pan
  • Baking sheet
  • Toothpick or tongs

Method

  1. In a small saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat and whisk in the buffalo hot sauce and oregano, creating a spicy butter mixture. Let it simmer gently for 2-3 minutes until fragrant and well combined.
  2. In a large bowl, toss the shredded chicken with the spicy buffalo butter until fully coated and glossy, ensuring every piece is infused with flavor.
  3. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Slice the slider buns in half and brush the cut sides lightly with olive oil. Place them on a baking sheet and toast in the oven for 5 minutes until golden and slightly crispy.
  4. Once toasted, spread the ranch dressing evenly on the bottom halves of each bun to add creaminess and balance the heat.
  5. Layer a generous amount of the spicy shredded chicken on top of the ranch-dressed buns, spreading it out to fill the surface evenly.
  6. Add slices of pickles over the chicken for a crunchy, tangy contrast that enhances the flavor profile.
  7. Cover with the top half of the buns and gently press down to help the flavors meld and to keep everything in place.
  8. Optional: use a toothpick or tongs to hold the sliders together, especially if serving at a gathering.
  9. Serve immediately, allowing the flavors to combine, with extra ranch or pickles on the side if desired.

Notes

For a crispier bun, broil the sliders for an additional minute after assembling. Feel free to add sliced celery or chopped scallions for extra freshness.
