Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 cup dried hibiscus flowers or hibiscus tea bags
  • 2 large ripe peaches pitted and sliced
  • 4 cups water
  • 3 tablespoons honey or simple syrup adjust to taste

Method
 

  1. Pour water into a saucepan and bring it to a gentle simmer over medium heat.
  2. Remove from heat and add the dried hibiscus flowers, then cover the pan.
  3. Let the mixture steep for about 10-15 minutes, until the water turns a rich deep red and the aroma blooms.
  4. While the tea steeps, wash, pit, and thinly slice the peaches into delicate wedges.
  5. Strain the brewed hibiscus tea through a fine mesh strainer into a jug or large pitcher, pressing lightly to extract maximum color and flavor.
  6. Add sliced peaches and honey or simple syrup to the strained tea, stirring gently to combine and dissolve the sweetener.
  7. Allow the mixture to cool to room temperature, then transfer to the refrigerator and chill for at least 30 minutes.
  8. Fill glasses with ice cubes and pour the chilled peach hibiscus tea over the ice, garnishing with extra peach slices if desired.
  9. Enjoy immediately, sipping the refreshing, tangy, and floral beverage in good company or alone as a calming treat.

Notes

Adjust sweetness by adding more honey or syrup. For a stronger hibiscus flavor, steep longer. The tea can be prepared in advance and kept refrigerated for up to 2 days.
