Ingredients

  • 4 cups water for brewing tea
  • 4 bags black tea bags or loose leaf tea
  • 2 large ripe peaches pitted and sliced
  • 1/4 cup honey or to taste
  • 1 cup hot water for infusing honey if desired
  • ice ice cubes for serving

Equipment

  • Kettle or pot for boiling water
  • Tea infuser or teapot
  • Large pitcher
  • Spoon for stirring
  • Strainer
  • Glass or serving pitcher

Method

  1. Bring water to a rolling boil in a kettle or pot, then pour over the tea bags in a large pitcher. Let steep for 5-7 minutes until the tea is fragrant and rich in color.
  2. Meanwhile, peel and slice the peaches into thin wedges, allowing their juicy aroma to fill the kitchen.
  3. Remove the tea bags carefully and stir in honey while the tea is still warm, so it dissolves fully and infuses sweetness without clumping.
  4. Add the sliced peaches directly into the tea, allowing their bright color and scent to mingle with the brew.
  5. Pour the tea into a pitcher and let it cool to room temperature, then transfer to the refrigerator to chill for at least 30 minutes.
  6. Fill glasses with ice cubes, then pour the cold peach tea over the ice, ensuring each glass gets some floating slices of peach for a beautiful and flavorful presentation.
  7. Garnish with a fresh peach slice or a sprig of mint if desired, and serve immediately to enjoy its refreshing aroma and vibrant appearance.

Notes

You can adjust the sweetness by adding more or less honey. For an adult twist, splash in a bit of bourbon before serving.
