Ingredients

  • 4 cups water for brewing tea
  • 4 bags black tea bags
  • 2 peaches ripe peaches pitted and sliced
  • 1 tbsp honey optional, for sweetness
  • 8 fresh mint leaves mint for infusion and garnish
  • ice as needed ice cubes

Equipment

  • Saucepan
  • Muddler
  • Tea pot or kettle
  • Fine-mesh strainer
  • Large pitcher
  • Glassware

Method

  1. Boil water in a saucepan and steep the black tea bags for about 8-10 minutes, until the aroma is rich and the tea is dark. Remove the tea bags and let the tea cool to room temperature.
  2. While the tea cools, muddle sliced peaches and mint leaves together in a large bowl or pitcher. Use a muddler or the back of a spoon to gently crush them, releasing their juices and aromatic oils. The mixture should look slightly pulpy and fragrant.
  3. Pour the cooled tea over the muddled peaches and mint, and stir in honey if you desire extra sweetness. Let the mixture sit for about 5 minutes to allow flavors to meld.
  4. Fill a large pitcher with ice cubes, then strain the tea mixture through a fine mesh strainer to remove pulp and mint leaves, pouring the chilled liquid over the ice. Gently stir to combine and chill further.
  5. Pour the prepared peach iced tea into glasses, garnishing each with additional fresh mint or a slice of peach if desired. Serve immediately to enjoy its vibrant aroma and refreshing chill.

Notes

Adjust sweetness and peach intensity to personal taste. For a more pronounced peach flavor, add extra fresh slices directly to the glass before serving.
