Ingredients

  • 4 cups water for brewing tea
  • 4 tea bags black tea preferably loose or bagged
  • 2 ripe peaches washed, pitted, sliced
  • to taste honey or sugar optional, for sweetness
  • ice cubes ice for serving

Equipment

  • Saucepan
  • Large pitcher
  • Sharp knife
  • Cutting board
  • Tea strainer or fine sieve
  • Glasses for serving

Method

  1. Bring water to a boil in a saucepan, then remove from heat and add the tea bags. Steep for about 10 minutes until the tea develops a deep color and fragrant aroma.
  2. While the tea is steeping, slice the peaches into thin wedges or chunks, paying attention to the vibrant orange and pink hues.
  3. Remove the tea bags, then stir in honey or sugar while the tea is still warm, tasting and adjusting the sweetness to your preference.
  4. Pour the brewed tea into a large pitcher and add the peach slices, gently stirring to distribute the fruit throughout the liquid. Let the mixture cool to room temperature then refrigerate until completely chilled, about 15–20 minutes.
  5. Once chilled, fill glasses with ice cubes and pour the peach iced tea over the ice, allowing the fruit to float and the tea to become refreshingly cold.
  6. Serve immediately, garnished with additional peach slices if desired, and enjoy this vibrant, fruity drink fresh from the fridge.

Notes

Feel free to adjust the sweetness and the amount of peach slices to suit your taste. For a stronger peach flavor, let the fruit sit in the tea longer before chilling.
