Ingredients

  • 200 grams ground pork preferably lean
  • 1 cup crushed roasted peanuts coarsely chopped
  • 1 cup cabbage finely shredded
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon ginger fresh, grated
  • 1 unit pack of dumpling wrappers about 20 pieces
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil for steaming

Equipment

  • Mixing bowl
  • steamer basket
  • small saucepan

Method

  1. Place the shredded cabbage in a clean kitchen towel and squeeze out excess moisture. Transfer the cabbage to a mixing bowl.
  2. Add ground pork, crushed peanuts, soy sauce, and grated ginger to the bowl. Mix thoroughly until well combined and the mixture is slightly sticky.
  3. Place a dumpling wrapper on a clean surface. Spoon about one teaspoon of filling into the center of the wrapper.
  4. Dip your finger in water and run it along the edge of the wrapper. Fold the wrapper over the filling to form a crescent shape, pinching the edges to seal tightly.
  5. Repeat with remaining wrappers and filling. Arrange the dumplings in a steamer basket lined with parchment paper or cabbage leaves, ensuring they do not touch each other.
  6. Bring water to a boil in a small saucepan fitted with a steamer. Place the steamer basket over the boiling water, cover, and steam the dumplings for 12-15 minutes, until the wrappers are translucent and the filling is cooked through.
