Ingredients

  • 3 tbsp peanut butter natural, creamy
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce low-sodium preferred
  • 1 tsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp honey
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 2 tsp water warm
  • optional chili paste for heat

Equipment

  • small saucepan
  • Silicone spatula
  • Measuring spoons

Method

  1. Gather all your ingredients: peanut butter, soy sauce, rice vinegar, honey, minced garlic, and warm water.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the peanut butter, soy sauce, rice vinegar, honey, and minced garlic until well combined and smooth.
  3. Pour the mixture into a small saucepan set over medium-low heat. As it warms, you'll notice it becoming fragrant with a nutty aroma.
  4. Stir continuously with a silicone spatula, encouraging the sauce to melt into a glossy, smooth consistency, about 2–3 minutes.
  5. If the sauce feels too thick, slowly add warm water a teaspoon at a time, stirring constantly, until it reaches a pourable but rich texture.
  6. Once the sauce is glossy and smooth, taste a small amount and adjust the seasoning if needed — a splash more soy for saltiness or a drizzle of honey for sweetness.
  7. Remove the pan from heat and let the sauce rest for a minute—it will thicken slightly as it cools but should stay silky and pourable.
  8. Give the sauce one final stir before serving, then drizzle over your favorite stir-fries, noodles, or grilled proteins for a rich, nutty flavor boost.

Notes

For extra heat, stir in chili paste or red pepper flakes during the final adjustments. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days, reheating gently and stirring well before use.
