Ingredients
  

  • 1 pint fresh strawberries hulled and washed
  • 2 shots espresso freshly brewed
  • 1 cup milk whole or 2% for creaminess
  • 2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup optional, for sweetness

  • Espresso machine or stovetop moka pot
  • Milk steamer or microwave-safe container and whisk
  • Tall glass or latte cup

Method
 

  1. Spread the strawberries on a baking sheet and roast in a preheated oven at 400°F (200°C) for about 10 minutes, until they are fragrant and slightly caramelized.
  2. Transfer the roasted strawberries to a blender and blend until smooth, then pour the puree into a small bowl and set aside.
  3. Brew two shots of espresso using your preferred method, filling a tall glass or latte cup halfway, and set aside.
  4. Heat the milk until steaming hot in a steamer or microwave, then froth with a whisk or milk steamer until creamy and light textured.
  5. If desired, stir honey or syrup into the strawberry puree for added sweetness.
  6. Pour the strawberry puree gently into the bottom of the glass with brewed espresso, creating a vibrant red layer.
  7. Slowly pour the steamed milk over the strawberry layer, allowing the creamy milk to form a smooth, slightly swirling top.
  8. Gently tilt the glass and swirl a little for a layered, marbled effect, if desired.
  9. Garnish with a fresh strawberry slice or a small sprig of mint if you like, and enjoy immediately.

Notes

For a sweeter flavor, adjust the amount of honey or syrup. Roasting strawberries enhances their natural sweetness and aroma, complementing the rich espresso and creamy milk. Serve immediately for the best aroma and texture.
