Method
- Prepare the chili salt rim by mixing sea salt with smoked paprika or chili powder in a shallow dish. Set aside.
- Cut a lime wedge and rub it around the rim of each cocktail glass to moisten the edge.
- Dip the rim of each glass into the chili salt mixture, pressing gently to coat evenly and creating a smoky, salty border.
- Place the watermelon cubes in a blender and blend until completely smooth, about 30 seconds—watch for a vibrant pink, silky mixture.
- Add freshly squeezed lime juice, tequila, and ice cubes to the blender with the watermelon puree.
- Blend everything again until well combined and chilled, about 20 seconds, until the mixture is frothy and smooth.
- Fill a cocktail glass with the watermelon margarita mixture, pouring carefully over the salted, smoky rim.
- Garnish with a small wedge of lime or a thin slice of watermelon if desired, and serve immediately with a straw or sip by sip.
Notes
For a spicier kick, sprinkle extra chili powder on the salt rim. Use fresh watermelon for the best flavor and color.
