Watermelon Mint Juice

This refreshing beverage is made by blending ripe watermelon with fresh mint leaves to create a chilled, smooth juice. The final drink has a vibrant red color, a cool icy texture, and a subtly aromatic mint aroma that makes it perfect for hot days.

Ingredients
  

  • 4 cups ripe watermelon, cubed seedless if possible
  • 8-10 fresh mint leaves mint leaves
  • to taste optional honey or agave syrup for added sweetness if desired

Equipment

  • Blender
  • Fine-mesh strainer
  • Large bowl or pitcher

Method
 

  1. Place the watermelon cubes and mint leaves into the blender.
  2. Pulse the blender a few times to start breaking down the fruit and releasing the mint aroma.
  3. Blend on high speed for about 30 seconds until the mixture is smooth and bright red, with some froth forming on top.
  4. Set a fine-mesh strainer over a large bowl or pitcher and pour the blended mixture through it, pressing gently to extract as much juice as possible.
  5. Discard the remaining pulp and mint solids, then give the juice a quick stir to combine everything evenly.
  6. If desired, add a small drizzle of honey or agave syrup for extra sweetness and stir until dissolved.
  7. Pour the chilled juice into glasses, and garnish with a sprig of mint if you like.
  8. Serve immediately with a straw or a stirrer, enjoying the cool, refreshing burst of summer in every sip.

Notes

For a frozen version, blend with ice cubes before straining. You can also add a squeeze of lime for extra zing.
